Noojee Fax 3.0 released with T.38 support
Noojee Fax 3.0 has been released and now support t.38 (Fax over IP) out of the box.
The best new feature however is the installer. For the first time Noojee Fax is really easy to install. A typical install will take around 15 minutes plus a few DNS entries. If you have tried Noojee Fax previously and had trouble installing it now is the time to try again. It really is easy.
Overview
Noojee Fax is a fax-to-email/email-to-fax gateway designed for the Asterisk PBX. Noojee Fax lets your staff send and receive faxes using a standard email client such as MS-Outlook or Thunderbird.
With Noojee Fax you don't need a dedicated fax line as Noojee Fax can share any voice lines attached to your Asterisk PBX. You can also forget about loading fax machines with paper and ink cartridges and save a few trees on the way :)
Receiving Faxes
Incoming faxes are automatically emailed to a selected email account based on the incoming fax number (DID). This allows all of your staff to have a private fax number.
Sending Faxes
Staff simply compose an email using any email client (e.g. MS-Outlook, Thunderbird), attached any required documents, enter the phone number as the 'To' Address and click 'Send'. A delivery receipt is emailed back to the sender once the transmission has completed.
Formerly know as AsterFax from the 21st of May 2008 AsterFax will be known as 'Noojee Fax'.
The name change is timed to coincide with a change of company name. From the 21st of May 2008 Asterisk IT will be know as 'Noojee Telephony Solutions'. |

Asterisk is an Open Source PABX integrating PSTN telephone lines and VOIP into a single solution, providing all of the functionality of a high end PBX. Noojee Fax builds on the services delivered by Asterisk and provides an email based Fax Gateway that will advance any company’s communication capabilities.
With Noojee Fax and Asterisk, you can send and receive faxes using your standard email client without having to install any software on your desktop. Noojee Fax simply translates a normal email message into a fax message for sending faxes and back the other way when receiving faxes. To send a fax you simply enter the destination phone number in the 'To' address, compose your email message and click the ‘Send’ button. It’s that easy.

We offer Noojee Fax completely free under a modified version of the GPL to users (commercial or otherwise) with a single fax line and up to 5 direct-in-dials. For users with a greater need you can purchase a commercial license for a reasonable price (see below).
The commercial fax driver is only available with the commercial version of Noojee Fax.
